There\u2019s love in every pie crust&#8211;particularly in our home, where my 90-year-old mother Jan is the designated crust roller.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: .5in; text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Everyone has a favorite flavor for holiday pie. As far as I\u2019m concerned, you can keep your apples and your squash. Give me a pecan pie, and I\u2019m so happy I could sing (and frequently do)!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: .5in; text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">This recipe combines two of my favorite ingredients\u2014Southern <a href=\"https:\/\/selmannutco.com\/product\/honey-roasted-pecans\/\"><span data-sheets-value=\"{&quot;1&quot;:2,&quot;2&quot;:&quot;Bulk Honey Roasted Pecans&quot;}\" data-sheets-userformat=\"{&quot;2&quot;:4224,&quot;10&quot;:2,&quot;15&quot;:&quot;Arial&quot;}\">Bulk Honey Roasted Pecans<\/span><\/a> and Northern maple syrup. It comes from the recipe files of my sister-in-law\u2019s grandmother, Lois Bullard of Memphis, Tennessee. The delicate maple flavor makes the pie taste less sweet and syrupy than many of its molasses- or corn-syrup-based brethren.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>Ingredients:<br \/>\n<\/em>3 tablespoons sweet butter at room temperature<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1 cup light brown sugar<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">2 eggs, beaten<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">2 tablespoons flour<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1 pinch salt<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1 cup maple syrup (I like to use Grade B)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">2 cups pecan halves<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1 9-inch unbaked pie shell<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>Instructions:<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs, flour, salt, and syrup. Stir in the pecan halves, and mix well. Pour the mixture into the pie shell. Bake for 5 minutes; then reduce the temperature to 375 degrees. Bake until the mixture just sets, 30 to 40 minutes, being careful to avoid burning. Serves 6 to 8.
