If you like old fashioned bbq recipes then consider going to a <a href=\"https:\/\/brothers-bbq.com\/\">barbeque restaurant<\/a> for some delicious dishes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">There are plenty of options when it comes to firing up a delicious BBQ, you may click on this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbqtogo.ca\/\"><strong>bbq sales edmonton<\/strong><\/a> here to learn more!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Lou also mentioned a dish he makes frequently, one I knew would appeal to my family (who happened to be coming to dinner the evening after I talked to him): pulled-pork pizza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">This month I talked to Craig White of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/hillsidepizza.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Hillside Pizza<\/span><\/a><\/span>, who along with partners runs pizza restaurants in three western Massachusetts towns. He described his mouthwatering chicken barbecue pizza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Both of these men are passionate about good food so I figured they must be onto a good thing!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">I will try Craig\u2019s pizza when I return home to Massachusetts. It uses an almond Asiago pesto only available at his establishments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Meanwhile, here is my recreation of Lou\u2019s pizza. I\u2019m sure it\u2019s amazing made with his signature barbecue sauce and pulled pork. (The man is a serious smoker!) I\u2019m afraid I just purchased barbecue sauce and pulled pork at Trader Joe\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Even with those ingredients, the pizza worked. I love salt so for me the combination of barbecue and blue cheese was a real winner!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">I should warn you that my nephew Michael didn\u2019t take to the blue cheese in this recipe. He believes blue cheese belongs only in salads. (We\u2019re working on his culinary education!) So I have listed cheddar as an alternative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Let me know if you come across any barbecue pizza yourselves, readers! And if you haven\u2019t seen it but would like to, try this one\u2026\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/tinkyweisblat.com\/_ourgrandmotherskitchens\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/Inspired-by-Holy-Smokes-Barbecue-Pizza.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inspired by Holy Smokes Barbecue Pizza<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Ingredients:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">1 pizza crust, homemade or store bought<br \/>\n1\/2 sweet onion, thinly sliced<br \/>\nbutter as needed for saut\u00e9ing<br \/>\na small amount of barbecue sauce (1\/4 cup or less)<br \/>\n1-1\/2 cups prepared pulled pork<br \/>\n1\/2 cup crumbled\u00a0blue cheese or grated Cheddar (use a little more if you\u2019re a cheese lover, but don\u2019t overwhelm the pork!)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Instructions:<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Bring the pizza dough to room temperature and preheat the oven as indicated in your dough instructions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Saut\u00e9 the onion slices in a little butter, starting with high heat and then reducing it to low. Stir occasionally and cook for 25 to 30 minutes, until the onions have caramelized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Roll and\/or stretch the pizza dough out gently (this may take a few tries) so that it forms a 14-inch circle (or a rectangle to go onto a cookie sheet if you don\u2019t have a pizza pan). Use a little flour to help with this if necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Spray your pan lightly with cooking spray and oil it even more lightly. Place the dough on the pan. Spread a very thin film of olive oil on top.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Spread the barbecue sauce on top of the crust, and sprinkle the pieces of pork around evenly on top of that. Arrange the caramelized onion slices over all, and top with little chunks of cheese.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Bake the pizza until the cheese is nicely melted and the bottom of the crust turns golden brown.
